Throw water in someone’s face today!

Alright I admit, I Matthew Walter am a jokester (have you met my father?) –  when I learned of the Thai festival Songkran I couldn’t help but get a little excited. Songkram is a festival of water over three days in April, three of the hottest days in April where you have the opportunity to literally throw water in peoples faces. When its 101 degrees and feels like 112 it’s hard to find someone not wanting the douse of water. So for three days outside Uncle Ron’s furniture shop we threw buckets, squirt squirt guns and doused anything that dared to drive by.

Out of respect for the monks you are supposed to keep them dry, but as Uncle Ron says in the thickest British accent I have ever heard  – “I am not happy, not one bloody monk has come by”. Rons soaks the monks.

To make the festival that much better we were able to celebrate with the kids from Tree of Life Orphanage. From 1pm til 6pm over three days we did what you were supposed to do – get people soaked.
