Ice Cream and the Taj Mahal

So the food in India has finally caught up to Amy…it’s a little unfair to blame it all on India as it was probably our own fault. After eating food from street carts, dark alleys and subpar restaurants it was chocolate ice cream that did her in. We knew we shouldn’t have ordered the ice cream, at the very least we should have waited until we were in a town where the power didn’t go off every 45 minutes. It must have melted and froze over a dozen times in the course of a day. Back on her feet – kind of – it was off to the Taj Mahal.

To avoid the touts and rickshaw wallas we decided to take in the Taj at sunrise. It was a cold and foggy morning but nothing could steal the beauty of the Taj Mahal. We snapped some pictures, ventured inside and just stood in amazement at her beauty. It was actually hard to walk away – every time we would turn to leave we would look over our shoulders for one last glimpse. Of all the places we have been both on this trip and in the past this is the most we have felt a sense of awe over what was before us. Not sure anything will take our breath away quite like the Taj Mahal.
