Just a few days in…

White table clothes, shrimp, chocolate cake and the finest choice of red wines. No I am not talking about a 5 star restaurant at the base of the Taj Mahal, but rather our experience on the six hour flight from Amman, Jordan to Delhi, India. Oh yea– bumped to first class. During check in we found out that we would be bumped to first class because of an over booked flight, what a way to start the trip into India.

At times it was laughable how luxurious the service was. Menus with a 5 course meal, hot towels every 15 minutes, our choice of about 20 current movies, anything you could think of. We were so caught up in it all that we forgot to take a picture. This wasn’t just first class on American Airlines or Delta, this was Royal Jordanian and Royal it was.

Arriving at 05:00 in the morning we took a good 6 hour nap until we finally ventured out of our hotel room about 11:00am to  take in the sights, sounds and smells of India. It has only been 24 hours so I don’t want to jump to any conclusions of my first impression, but I will anyway. I really would like to meet the people who write these guidebooks about how insane Delhi is. Sure there are cows walking the streets and a bit of trash but insane? Haven’t seen it yet, and we are in the Main Bazaar. Give it a few days and I will probably be putting my foot in my mouth, but for now I am thankful for our three months in Africa that make India seem like a piece of cake. SO FAR.

**been a few more days in and still think this place is amazing!**
